THIS BOUTIQUE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND EXCELLENCE
The housekeeping and the rooms were simply fabulous.
The photograps on TA definately dont do it justice. From the first moment they collected is from our taxi at the end of their road (the location is pederstrian only) to the time we left the hotel.
Check out the new internal mural which is NOT SHOWN on the TA photos when you visit
Their attention to detail goes above and beyond aything we have experienced in India and we travelled quite extensively. We have stayed in amazing five star hotels and The Postcard Mandalay Hall was simply the best!..
Little touches - like a straw for drinks was always presented in a little box. The "take me home" bag was left onthe bed before our departure so that we could take home the toiletries. The black and white striped luggage tags attached to our luggage. The friendliest lovliest staff so highly trained to make one feel special.
The little restaurant served lovely food and the breakfast smoothies - delicious.
Thank you Postcard we will be visiting your other properties

The most wonderful boutique hotel in the midst of old city.
The manger Sudhir ( I think and forgive me if I am wrong) is the most welcoming, helpful manager. He personally took care of us and made sure we are catered for.
A fantastic hotel. If you can afford it, don’t hesitate. It is worth every penny. Kudos.

Boutique hotels over promising, pricing and considerably under delivering
1. Even before I settled in at the lobby was presented a bill to pay the rest of the amount due, less than 50 percent of the total amount.
2. The room was not even half the size I was told it was. On enquiring I was pointed to a small patch of land with a tree which can not even be accessed. Was also told they wanted to give me another room which was larger, but unfortunately that was occupied!! A very normal room and the amenities they claim to be luxurious are pretty normal run of the mill stuff you find in any good hotel these days.
3. I could not get a wink of sleep either in the afternoon or at night. Sounds of footsteps coming from the floor above can be very disturbing. The management did inform the guests above, am sure they did not tip toe for the rest of their stay.
4. The digital lock system on the door kept malfunctioning and raising wierd noises. The number given to open also is one that can be easily guessed by anybody. Wonder how do they ensure security beyond their staff.
5. The pool is dirty and not useable.
The staff did try to be as polite, apologetic and accommodating as possible. However the stay had already been ruined. Am surprised at the great ratings the property has received. Probably am old fashioned and able to appreciate the finer elements in the room. However I value my sleep and vehemently object to misinformation sold to customers. In the name of "boutique" I do feel certain hotel chains are over promising, considerably over pricing and under delivering.

Doesn’t deserve to be a postcard property
First it is located within a busy market and there is no parking at the property. We need to park the car it at the taxi stand which is little far and full of chaos.
Property is not maintained properly as well. Swimming pool is like a miniature and was full of fallen leaves. In the room, shampoo was not given, on which they said - existing stock is out of expiry date. At least they were honest. They did provide it next morning though.
They suggested to use the guided walking tour next morning. We assumed it to be sponsored from hotel side. It turned out it was chargeable Rs 750 per person. Glad that my 2 other friends didn’t show up for it. The guide was mostly good but didn’t like her boasting about eating beef and distributing beef as mark of protest for Indian government.
I availed anytime breakfast facility. First the menu is very limited. Early breakfast at 6 am was served cold, likely it was prepared last night and stored.
Overall I won’t be visiting it again.
