My New Favourite Hotel

I stayed at this property in February pre cruise. I chose it because I could use my Expedia points to pay. Prior to this we had stayed at the Renaissance. Back in 2012 we were very impressed. However, over the years the property and service have deteriorated.
We are thrilled to have found this property. The rooms are clean and fresh. The pool is delightful. And most of all, the staff are tremendously friendly and happy.
We will be back in April. And looking forward to it.
Great shopping a quick walk away. And check out Grandpa’s for an excellent meal

One Night in Fort Lauderdale

This was our lodging for the night before our cruise began. Our room was very nice and immaculately clean. The location is great, it is just a short walk to the DANIA POINT shopping and restaurant area which seems to be aa popular area for both tourists and those who live in the area.

Nice hotel with some issues

The hotel was nice and clean. The pool area was not too busy. There were a few things that brought our review down. Firstly the elevators are terrible and the pass cards rarely worked. It took us 4 attempts to get to the pool deck before we had to take the stairs. Secondly on check in we had booked a double queen room but when we arrived to our room it was a king. At 11pm with kids this is a pain. Finally our room was not cleaned until 5:30pm after we had to call (they accused us of having a sign on our door which was incorrect. Otherwise the area the hotel was located in was the main positive of the stay.

Pre Cruise Hotel

Wonderful place to stay before our cruise. We flew into Fort Lauderdale 3 days before our cruise that was leaving from Miami. Marriott Airport in Fort Lauderdale was a good choice for us. We had a late flight and the hotel had a shuttle to pick us up. Checking in was quick and the staff is excellent. Our room was very clean and what you would expect from a Marriott. The location is excellent as you are walking distance from Dania Shopping mall and many different restaurants and retail stores. We went to TJ Max and bought another suitcase to come home with(wife was shopping a little too much) We used Uber to get around. Took Uber one day to get on the Carrie B cruise boat off of Las Olas Blvd. There are also lots of restaurants and shops in that area. Worth doing the river walk there and there is a water taxi available in that area. The next day we took Uber and went to Hollywood beach. We walked the boardwalk, people watched, more shopping in the little shops along the boardwalk and there are many restaurants to choose from. We had 2 full days in Fort Lauderdale and enjoyed our stay. Sunday morning February 9th was our day to board our ship Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Sea in Miami. MJS Transportation picked us up at the Marriott and took us to our ship. It was $40 for two of us which is very reasonable. After our cruise they picked us up from the ship and took us back to the Marriott. We stayed another night and flew home the next day. We left 80 degree weather and came back to Idaho with snow and 20 degrees. I would highly recommend MJS Transportation. Big nice clean vans, friendly drivers . Communication with them is great. They called the morning of the cruise and called the morning we got off ship to make arrangements to pick us up. Cannot go wrong with the Marriott or MJS Transportation. Enjoyed our stay in sunny Florida.
