A great and cheap place to stay outside Bangkok city center
The hotel is located at the Bangkok Golf Club and we all know how an golf area is. A lot of green grass, trees and water giving a "peace of mind" if you are not a golf player. It is a bit isolated so do not expect any city communications thus the hotel has a transfer service to the close by mall (by golf cart). To get here you need taxi and the options are several from city center and/or the Suvarnabhumi airport or Don Muang. Depending on traffic and where from it takes all from 45 min ??. An option is to take the BTS to Royal Thai Air force museum (Sukhumvit Line direction Khu Khot) and then 20-25 min taxi (~ 200 THB). The restaurant has a vast meny which suits all. The Thai food is well cooked and tasy with some "local" specalities to low prices (considering it is a golf hotel). The Paneng curry is one of the best I have tried during my 20 years of travelling to Thailand. The english level on staff is up and down depending on which function you turn to - buat as always in Thailand - sabai sabi it will be solved :) The rooms are tidy and in a rel good shape. One good thing is that there is no carpeting thus wooden imitation vinyl floor. The room contains the "normal" such as safety box, complimentary bottled water, fridge, slippers, robe and if booked a balcony. The beds are, for my body type (a bit overweighted) good. An olympic pool and gym is also at the hotel as the standrad SPA, which is "cheap" form a western perspective and well performed. The AC works but is not the normal one - it is with an innerpart which can be a bit noicy. Several public areas to relax in both inside and outside. the cost for a room starts at 1300 THB up to 3000 THB depending on season and room type.
there are a lot of restaurants within 20 min taxi radius, where several is located at the river with good and cheap food.
There are also several temples nearby and if you spend 1600 THB then the hotel can arrange a private driver to take you to all popular temples.
I have stayed a few times there because I work close by and for my it is the nr 1 choice.
One thing though - it is impossible to get an reply if you use the email address at the homepage: tndbc@tinidee.com . If that is because the reciever does not speak english or not remians to be "unwritten" :)
