Superb!
We stayed in Tiger Lodge and it was superb! The standard of accommodation was very high and we were lucky enough to see (and hear) the tigers multiple times per day. One afternoon, both were stretched out in front of our lounge and one of the bedrooms. It's incredible to be so close to such incredible animals. Overall, the park is great and it's fantastic that they do such amazing conservation work. I've read other reviews about the food in the Garden Room and I have to say that I agree. It's average, at best. The staff are helpful and good natured though. My advice is that if you are able to book dinner 'off reservation' do. We ate at the Tiger Inn at Stowton on the second evening, which was a vast improvement on the Garden Room.

Don’t wait for a special occasion , just go!
Organised by my husband for a 70th birthday treat for me, all the family came too for a three night stay. My husband and I stayed in the hotel (Rex Whistler) along with our son and granddaughter (Herbert Baker). Both rooms were lovely, ours overlooked the tree (beautifully lit at night) and the little pond and we could see the horizon of the reserve.
Our daughter, son in law and further three grandchildren stayed in Rhino Lodge, which is just stunning, so well decorated, cosy but classy, has a garden with a fire pit with marshmallows provided for toasting and the Rhino as its close neighbour. An added bonus was the dulcet tones of the wolves opposite howling at night, it was so atmospheric, it just added to the experience, the family just loved it. This combination of accommodation worked perfectly for our family, but the choice of accommodation is plentiful, something to suit everyone. We had breakfast and dinner in the Garden Room and one dinner in Baby Dolls. The food in both restaurants was superb, plentiful and good choice of menu, caters for children easily. We had a lovely waitress called Liz who really looked after us. We had a booked a giraffe encounter, taken there by ranger Richard, this was so good, Richard was so knowledgeable and answered our questions, such a great thing to do. We also went on the safari (one allocated for each day of stay), this was well worth it, amazing to see so many varieties of deer etc roaming free. One highlight for all of us was the golf buggies, one per family for the duration of the stay. These enable you to pop round to visit the animals at your own pace. A particular favourite was the Gorilla Bachelor group, we regularly caught them being fed, before we went for our own breakfast. We all went out on the buggies early, it’s lovely to have the place to yourselves before the public come in, the reserve of is full of greenery and wild flowers, so interesting to see the fauna and flora. Even though it was half term, it didn’t strike uncomfortable though, there’s plenty of room. The animals are all so well cared for, the enclosures are huge and sometimes it’s a struggle to see them but persevere, they’re there. We often stumbled across feeding times and every keeper is happy to chat, they’re so professional in their animal care. Really can’t fault this place, it’s an ideal trip for a special occasion but I’m not going to wait for another one before we go again!

We loved our stay
What a fantastic place to visit and stay. The food was excellent and the place was spotless.
We will return and stay overnight again.
All the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable and we will recommend to family and friends that have not already visited.
We stayed in the hotel which we loved but all the other places available looked great as well.

Lost its magic and safari appeal
Safari tour has been cut so no longer goes through grasslands passing free roaming giraffe, zebra and antelope. No longer passes the wild dogs. This means it is impossible to see many animals and only tracks fenced areas losing open safari appeal. No amazing panoramic views over wildlife. Instead it tracks the fence line most of which is easily seen in the walking route. We won’t be renewing our membership. Very disappointing as what made Port Lypne so unique and magical has been lost. I assume this is to cram in more tours as increasingly commercial. We were told in depth about accommodation options offer whereas in previous years guides discussed everything from rhino ivf to release efforts. Heartbreaking- my children used to be so inspired by conservation following these tours but no more.

Great experience - Giraffe lodge
Stayed at the Giraffe lodge and had the most amazing stay. People to arriving I had to change the date due to a death in the family, they were so kind to allow us to change the date! Service was simply amazing!
We arrived and walked the grounds, looked so lovely and had weather on our side. The safari’s were great. Being so close to the giraffe’s as well. The tent was nice and exactly how we pictured it to be. We slept well. The food was decent, although would have preferred a little more variety for dinner. Really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend. Was expensive but we found it well worth it. The day after going on another safari was nice too.
